Fortnite

Fortnite: Chapter 4 – Season 1 has arrived.  The first chapter of the new season brings a new realm, new transport methods including a dirt bike, snowball and the mighty shockwave hammer as well as the usual addition of exciting new weapons. Following the events of Chapter 3’s finale, a new island has formed in the battle royale featuring places like the citadel of The Ageless, the Shattered Slabs mining facility and the Brutal Bastion among the mountains. With all of this new content to explore, you might be wondering; when does Chapter 4 – Season 1 End?

Fortnite: Chapter 4 – Season 1 is currently scheduled to end on March 10th, 2023, meaning that Season 1 will be 96 days long. Fortnite’s Chapter 3 finale event, Fracture, just destroyed the game’s island home before launching players into space where they worked together to construct a new battleground. The event ran for nearly an hour which is Fortnite’s longest yet, and added a 30-minute minigame between two cinematic cutscenes.

The event marked the end of Chapter 3’s final season which saw players join together to fight the Herald, an enemy who threatened to cover the game’s island in chrome in order to destroy it, bringing the beginning of the Nothing. Players teamed up with Paradigm, a member of the Seven, as well as an AI named Amie and the familiar Jonesy to fight the Herald which led to an epic battle in a huge tree fort that unfortunately, they ended up losing. You can watch YouTuber Ali-A’s point of view of the event from around 85 minutes in below.

The Herald’s win was surprisingly quick, and players were then thrust into the minigame to collect fragments of the Zero Point and restore its energy. Those efforts helped the Zero Point to collect chunks of the old island and forge a new one, which players will now fight across.

The 10 hours of downtime following the Fracture live event was the longest in the game’s history, but now that Fortnite is back live there are plentiful changes. The video game was updated to Unreal Engine 5.1 which means it will run much smoother and look better across all platforms.

Alongside the visual changes, there are new crossovers including Deku from the popular anime series My Hero Academia – the character appeared in the launch trailer using a special ability. Doom Slayer from the Doom game series and Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher are two additional crossovers coming to Fortnite which will be unlockable with the new Battle Pass.

With all this content to explore, it’s a good job there are 96 days to consume it all in.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
