Fortnite: Season 8 has just had its first major update, v18.10, and a huge change to how crows work in the game.
Crows were a new addition for the start of Season 8, though they didn’t serve much purpose until this update. Now, they will drop meat for healing and crafting, as well as a weapon based on their rarity.

Gold (Legendary) and Purple (Epic) crows now fly around the island, dropping weapons for whoever eliminates them. Here’s what they drop along with meat.
– Epic Assault Rifle (SCAR)
– Epic Submachine Gun (P90)
– Epic Pump Shotgun (SPAS)
– Epic Lever Action Shotgun
– Legendary Lever Action Shotgun
The crows in Fortnite work similarly to the Cargo Bots in Apex Legends in that you can shoot them down from the sky and get some free loot, though it’s not as complex. You see the crow, you shoot, you get the loot.
