Fortnite Birthday Challenges Guide: Dance In Front Of Different Birthday Cakes

Fortnite

Fortnite is celebrating its first birthday for the next two weeks. From the 24th of July to the 7th of August, three special challenges will be available for all Battle Royale players, whether or not they have the Battle Pass purchased.

Two of the three challenges are very straightforward. Play 14 matches and deal 1,000 damage to opponents (not in a single match). However, the final challenge is a little bit more involved, behaving a lot like the typical scavenger hunt challenges we receive most weeks.

Scattered throughout the map are enormous birthday cakes (bigger than the player). You need to dance (any dance) in front of ten of these birthday cakes to complete the challenge and earn your sweet, sweet birthday cake backpack. You can’t dance in front of the same cake twice and you can complete this challenge over as many games (not a single match) as needed to finish it. Additionally, eating the slices of cake doesn’t contribute to completing the challenge, but they do restore 5 shields and health per slice, which is useful, because these cakes tend to attract trouble.

You will know a birthday cake is close by because the surrounding area will have bunches of blue, pink and purple balloons tethered to the surrounding terrain. Below is a picture of the birthday cake.

Now that you know exactly what you’re looking for, here is a map with each birthday cake (I could find) circled in red.

Just remember to dance in front of each cake (the UI will let you know when you’ve succeed) until you hit the requisite ten and you’re done. Happy hunting/eating/dancing.
