Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma is known for its mouth-watering dishes, intense cook-offs, and ecchi reactions, thanks to Sōma Yukihira’s cooking. The series created by Yūto Tsukuda became an instant hit when the manga debuted in 2012, prompting a similarly successful anime adaptation in 2015. Its anime now has five seasons to its name, but a sixth season has yet to come.

If you’re unfamiliar with the anime, you’re probably wondering why no one’s talking about Food Wars anymore. Was the previous season the final season? Or is there hope for a Season 6? To answer your questions, this is everything you need to know about Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma: Season 6.

When Is Food Wars: Season 6 Being Released?

Unfortunately, there’s no release date for Food Wars: Season 6 because the previous season was the last one. Food Wars: The Fifth Plate was the final season, ending with 86 episodes and 5 OVAs. So as much as we’d love for it to return, Food Wars: Season 6 isn’t likely going to happen.

Then again, we could see more Food Wars content if Yūto Tsukuda decided to write special chapters in the manga. The animation studio can also create more OVAs or even movies in the future. If any Food War-related content comes up, we’ll update this article to let you know. While waiting for more Food Wars, consider checking out the author’s new manga, Tenmaku Cinema.

What Could Food Wars: Season 6 Be About?

If Food Wars: Season 6 miraculously happened, there’s no way of knowing what it’ll be about. Since the author officially ended the manga, the anime cannot adapt more chapters. Yūto Tsukuda will have to decide to pick up the manga again before we get a plot for Food Wars: Season 6.

When that happens, we might see Soma compete in more culinary challenges or even open his restaurant. Who knows? Maybe the next iteration of Food Wars will feature a new protagonist, with Soma as their mentor. And, of course, we’ll finally see whether or not Soma and Erina ended up together since the previous season gave them quite an open ending.

Which Studio Could Make Food Wars: Season 6?

Assuming the studio stays the same, then J.C. Staff are the ones who could make Food Wars: Season 6. Since there’s no more content from the manga, it’ll be up to them if they want to make a new season that’s anime original. Still, it’s highly unlikely because they’re working on several projects at the moment, such as Edens Zero Season 2, Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts, and In Another World with My Smartphone Season 2.

Where Could Food Wars: Season 6 Be Aired?

If it does get made, Food Wars: Season 6 will most likely be available on the same services as the previous seasons. Although realistically, Food Wars: Season 6 will not come any time soon because the story has ended. But at least you can enjoy its entirety right now. You can watch Food Wars: Seasons 1-5 on Crunchyroll, Netflix, HiDive, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime Video.
