Bandai Namco have announced the second DLC guest character that will be joining the Tekken 7 roster: Noctis from Final Fantasy XV. Next you’ll be telling me that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are coming to Injustice 2.

In the new gameplay trailer, we can see the FFXV protagonist taking on Devil Jin, Yoshimitsu and other Tekken 7 mainstays. His gameplay and moveset include his signature Engine Blade, along with the other weapons and spells that make up his vast armoury. Noctis can also use his teleport strike to open up combos from a distance. All in all, it seems like the guy has plenty of tools at his disposal to make him one of the most dangerous characters on the roster.

The inclusion of Noctis in Tekken is certainly a surprising one, but it’s not like Final Fantasy characters haven’t turned up in fighting games before. Cloud from FFVII is still playable in Super Smash Bros for the Wii U. With Cloud fighting Ryu in Smash and Noctis soon to be fighting Akuma in Tekken, we’re only a few steps away from Street Fighter X Final Fantasy.

Noctis will be available as part of Tekken 7’s Season Pass and will release some time in Spring 2018. The DLC pack will also include a new Final Fantasy XV inspired stage, which takes place in the car park of a Mini Mart, where a few familiar faces spectate on the action. Before that though, we’re still waiting for Geese Howard to arrive.
