February 2022 Nintendo Direct Games

Nintendo have already confirmed that the Direct will last for about 40 minutes, and will contain “information mainly focused on Nintendo Switch games launching in the first half of 2022”.

The “mainly focused” aspect of that sentence suggests a couple of surprise announcements that are further afield than the end of June 2022. Perhaps we’ll see something about Breath of the Wild’s sequel, or even a hint at the next Mario or Mario Kart game? Anything can happen.

As for more grounded predictions, Splatoon 3 is set for launch this year, so we may see some more details surrounding that. Kirby’s new game, The Forgotten Land is also set for launch next month, so it’s likely we’ll hear more information regarding that. Lastly, with the N64 and Mega Drive/Genesis emulators now available via the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, there’s a possibility we’ll here about more games coming down the pipeline for those services.
