Epic Games Store Issuing Partial Refunds For Missed Discounts

Fair play. Golf clap, everyone.

Epic Games Store

It’s been revealed that the Epic Games Store is now issuing partial refunds on video game purchases if players happen to miss out on a recent discount. The news was broken a few days ago by Studio Mayday co-founder Joshua Boggs on Twitter, who tweeted out a screenshot of an automated email he received.

If players happen to purchase a game for full price just before said game goes on sale, Epic now appear to be sending out partial refunds for the difference, which is an incredibly generous gesture from the company. Epic haven’t commented yet on this new policy, but they have amended their refund policy to allow for unlimited refunds from within a two week window after purchase, with less than two hours played, bringing it in-line with Steam. Previously, players only had two refunds per year.

The Epic Games Store recently went through a bit of difficulty, as GTA V became free to download and own for a week. Naturally, high demand caused the storefront to crash, but GTA V is still available to download until May 21st, so if you haven’t snapped it up yet, go for it.
