EA Play: All the News From EA’s Conference At E3 2017

Battlefront 2 Chewbacca

EA Play, EA’s slightly off-brand Pepsi cola version of E3, returned today and brought with it a whole bunch of new games and gameplay footage.

While there was nothing particularly earth-shattering, the mix of annual sports games and new IPs did enough to impress. It’s a shame that pretty much everyone involved, including the hosts, looked like they wanted to be elsewhere.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Madden takes a Journey
Madden 18 will be getting its own Journey-esque mode, called Longshot. It will star Mahershala Ali, so its quality just went up by a thousand.

In the Name of The Tsoon
We got our first look at Battlefield 1’s In the Name of the Tsar along with a release date.

FIFA’s next Journey
FIFA is back (shock of shocks) with a new gameplay trailer sans the actual gameplay. Alex Hunter also returns for a new Journey.

NBA Live 18
They are still doing these.

Need for Speed: Payback gameplay
Some Burnout-lite gameplay for the next Need For Speed was shown off. It will again be open-world and story-driven.

A Way Out shows a new way
Probably the most promising game of the night, A Way Out is a co-op action game from the guys behind Brothers. It looks really interesting – definitely one to keep an eye out for.

This is the Anthem, throw all your hands up
A tease for Titanfall 2.5, aka Anthem was shown before a bigger reveal at Microsoft’s conference. It’s the next game from BioWare, who will hope to bounce back from Andromeda‘s controversies.

Battleforever
A whole heap of new Star Wars: Battlefront 2 gameplay was shown off and included Duel of the Fates. My pre-ordering finger started sweating.
