The zombie apocalypse isn’t quite the same without your pals, and Dying Light 2 lets you three of your friends tag along for 4-player co-op across The City. But how does cross-play work in Dying Light 2?

Not very well, at least just yet. Only PC players on Steam and Epic Games will be able to enjoy cross-play together, though Techland has mentioned that they will be updating the game over time to hopefully include full cross-play in Dying Light 2.

Here’s a breakdown of cross-play in Dying Light 2, including which platforms can play with which.

To play cross-play in Dying Light 2 on PC, pause, then go to your online menu down below.

Connect the different accounts and then start inviting your friends from the opposite platform by pressing C; press F to invite players on the same platform. Bear in mind that all of you need to have completed the prologue before you can take part in cross-play co-op together, which should take 1-2 hours of gameplay.

Players will carry over all progression from their co-op sessions, with everyone also voting on major story decisions. As well as that, players will be able to play through the whole game, including the epilogue, in co-op.

Dying Light 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
