If you hate yourself but love Onimusha and Dark Souls, you might want to check out the insanely difficult Nioh, available now in beta form on the PlayStation 4. Don’t say I didn’t warn you – the alpha almost made me cry with the unfairness of life.
One of the best aspects of the Nioh beta is that completion gives you DLC to use in the main game when it launches, just as was the case with the beta. It’s the same DLC, Mark of the Conqueror, so if you missed it first time around, now is your chance. Who knows what actually comes with the new content, though – Team Ninja have yet to confirm anything.
Were you brave enough to beat the alpha? Well, you will be one step ahead in the beta as you will unlock new weapons and the chance to gain another free piece of DLC, this time called Marks of the Strong. Two free DLCs for just beating what is essentially a demo? There’s nothing to complain about there, but good luck actually defeating it in the first place.
If you want to test your mettle, the beta runs until September 6th. Thanks to fan feedback, the beta will come with more content than the alpha for new players, such as a training area.
