Disco Elysium Cracks The Case Of Retail Physical Editions

An all-time great game gets new editions.

Disco Elysium

Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, the improved version of 2019’s critically-lauded investigative RPG, is getting a number of special editions from developer ZA/UM and video game collectible company iam8bit.

A Collector’s Edition for the PlayStation 5 will be released this winter, with the retail price of $249.99. This will include the game, a special “layers of the id” box, a hand-painted “mind totem” vinyl sculpture, an illustrated fabric map of the game’s city of Martinaise, and a 190+ page hardbound artbook featuring, according to the iam8bit site, “Oodles of Previously Unreleased Art and Stories.”

Disco Elysium Playstation 4 Physical Edition

In addition to the expansive collector’s edition, iam8bit and distribution partner Skybound Games will put out a retail physical edition of Disco Elysium, available on November 9th. The PS4 retail versions of the game will be eligible for a free PS5 upgrade, and will include a foldable poster and digital code for the Collector’s Edition’s artbook.

There’s no standalone PS5 physical release currently planned.

Where Can I Play Disco Elysium?

Disco Elysium is a fascinating game, with rich writing and mind-bending narrative twists that harken back to the golden age of CRPGs like Planescape Torment.

Disco Elysium is currently available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S, with a Nintendo Switch release anticipated for later this year.
