Arkane Studios have announced today on Twitter that Deathloop, their upcoming time-bending FPS that’s coming to the PS5, has been delayed until September 14th. You can check out the statement from the game’s director Dinga Bakaba and art director Sebastien Mitton below.

So Why Has Deathloop Been Delayed?

In an additional written statement from Dinga, he mentions how the development team want to ensure the best quality game possible while doing their upmost to protect Arkane employees: “We’re committed to quality and preserving the team’s ambitions for Deathloop while ensuring the health and safety of everyone at Arkane. We’ll be using this extra time to accomplish our goal: create a fun, stylish and mind-bending experience.”

This isn’t the first time that Deathloop has been delayed, as the game was pushed back in 2020 to spring of this year. Of course, this has become part and parcel of game developers adjusting to the work from home culture enforced by the pandemic, which has impacted game development, particularly with regard to this year’s releases.
