Few Capcom characters make more sense to venture into Street Fighter than Devil May Cry’s Dante, and that’s exactly what we’re getting. Well, sort of. Dante is coming to SF, but not the upcoming Street Fighter 6. Instead, Dante will be appearing in Street Fighter: Duel, a mobile spin-off available on iOS and Android, from May 11th until May 24th.
Here’s how Crunchyroll Games, Duel’s developers, describe the upcoming crossover between Devil May Cry 5 and Street Fighter: Duel:

A mysterious tree, the Qliphoth from Devil May Cry 5TM, has cast a sinister shadow over the world of Street FighterTM: Duel. The megalomaniac dictator, M. The same press release also reminded me to finally watch the Devil May Cry anime that so few people seem to remember. You can catch that on Crunchyroll, though I will probably be digging out the Blu-ray I bought in the middle of my pandemic mania and never got around to watching.
In the meantime, we can keep wishing for Dante in Street Fighter 6, but he’d probably have to leave the giant sword at home.
