As a finale to today’s Nintendo Direct livestream, a name and release date were finally announced for the follow up to Breath of the Wild. It’s called The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and it’s set to launch on Nintendo Switch on May 12th, 2023. Check out the debut trailer at the top of the page.
No real details about the highly anticipated sequel were shared during the Direct, though we did see a brief snippet of gameplay during the name reveal trailer. In it, we could see Link exploring Hyrule from both land and sky, showcasing new abilities to traverse this massive, vertical world.
