There are a lot of gaming chair brands out there. Like a lot lot. It’s impossible to keep up with them all, and also quite the task to afford some of them — so many chairs cost more than your gaming setup. With the BraZen Sentinel Elite PC Gaming Chair, though, you have a decent, if certainly still flawed, cheaper option.
Costing £159.95 at this time of writing, the BraZen Sentinel Elite PC Gaming Chair has all the hallmarks of a decent gaming chair. The lumbar support offers plenty of protection for your back, and always feel like it’s in the right spot. If not, the pillow, itself just the right mix of soft and hard can easily be moved or removed, if you so wish.
The head support also provides plenty of relief from being hunched over, clacking away at the keyboard. Again, something that can be removed or moved fairly easily — the chair does offer good comfort without either pillow.
Coming from a cheap supermarket gaming chair that offered next to no comfort, it’s been quite the upgrade.
Using the chair is also fairly straightforward; there aren’t many bells and whistles. You can, of course, go higher and lower with a lever, though it must be said that it feels like it should let you go just a couple of inches lower than it does. If you’re under 5″8, expect some dangling toes.
Interestingly, the armrests can be moved side-to-side as well as up and down, which is something I don’t often see in gaming chairs. A neat feature that gives you the option of even more room in what is already decently sized chair without being too large or small. That said, this design does make the armrests feel somewhat loose — it doesn’t take much pressure from you at all for it to move. The option to lock them in place just a little more securely would have been appreciated.
If there’s anything that I really have to ding the BraZen Sentinel Elite PC Gaming Chair down on, it has to be the process of putting it together. The instructions are all picture-based, so it would have been nice to have had a bit more detail for the chair’s fiddliest parts. I would also strongly recommend getting someone else to help you construct the chair as you have to hold it all in place quit firmly, the margins for leeway are that small.
Though the building of the chair is frustrating, the build quality itself is superb. It holds up well to stress tests (read: angrily moving around in place) and I’ve had next to no issues compared to the rest of the gaming chairs I’ve tried out in the past. The material, while not the absolute top of the line, doesn’t get “sticky” during heat, and it also provides that all important comfort.
I can see myself using the BraZen Sentinel Elite PC Gaming Chair. If you want a mid-priced gaming chair that offers what you would expect, this might be the one for you.
