It’s the start of a new month, so, unlike a competitor who seems to spin a dial and pick a random date to drop their free games on, it’s time to start downloading your new free Games with Gold. It’s a good month, too.
First up, Layers of Fear, which is available from today until the end of the month. It’s a polarising title in the office with myself not rating it too highly but my colleague WB insisted it’s one of the best of 2016. Bloober Team’s horror yarn is certainly worth playing, especially now it’s free. Just try not to laugh when the baby keeps running into the wall.
Available through backwards compatibility, Borderlands 2 is one of the most revered games of the previous generation. If you’re yet to understand the fuss behind Gearbox’s only real saving grace, it’s free from today until March 15th. Just add it to your library and you can download it another time if you can’t jump straight into the hunt for treasure.
Evolve and Heavy Weapon come later in the month, so keep an eye out for them. As for the future of Games With Gold because of Xbox Game Pass, it’s here to stay.
