Blasphemous 2: How to Defeat Incarnate Devotion

We have two bits of excellent news to start you off with for the final Blasphemous 2 bout. The first is that Incarnate Devotion mercifully has only a single form and a single health bar. Furthermore, if you can’t beat him the first time you reach him, you can stay at this section of the boss fight until you win, provided you don’t close the game or quit to the title screen.

The first thing that you’re going to want to know as the battle begins is that Incarnate Devotion will summon flames on the ground, leaving you to jump around the arena battling golden creatures. You can’t hurt Incarnate Devotion unless you kill all of them, and it will sometimes make more as you go if you’re not quick enough. Once you clear the last one, the shield will fall away from the boss’ heart, though, and you can bash the crap out of it with your weapon or prayer of choice.

Watch for falling meteorite rocks next. They will leave a small space between them that you can stay safe in if you jump, or you can jump and dodge through the first wave and to the safe area behind them. As the creature grows more desperate over the course of the fight, it will re-summon the flames and the golden monsters, only it will also send waves of blue magic at the same time that you have to dodge through.

The blue energy wave attack can also happen on its own at a certain point in the fight and will be joined by a collection of explosions that appear all over the screen. Watch where the first ones appear and try to get there while they continue, as they seem to go in a sequence as well.

Aside from the flashy attacks listed above, though, that’s it for Blasphemous 2. Doubtless, there is still some exploration you’d like to finish up on the map and some more collectibles for you to find, but as far as enemies and bosses in the game go, you’ve absolutely cleaned house. Enjoy your well-earned victory. Note that there are two endings to the game as well, though the other ending doesn’t feature an extra boss battle or anything like that.
