Frictional Games have announced that Amnesia: The Bunker, the upcoming next instalment of their popular horror franchise, will be launching on May 16th on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, along with PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X & S. The game was originally scheduled to launch next month, but now has been pushed back two months.

While fans of the series will find the fact that they’re being stalked by a mysterious creature familiar, Amnesia: The Bunker aims to be a more ambitious game than previous entries in the franchise, with more player choice and a creature that’ll learn and adapt to your gameplay. You also have a gun with limited ammo in The Bunker, which is a huge departure from the rest of the series. Yes, you could choose to shoot the monster in the face, but that’ll probably end terribly for you.

A psychological horror story set during the events of World War 1, players will control a French soldier by the name of Henri Clement, who has unfortunately been left behind by his battalion and is now trapped in an abandoned military bunker, filled with a lot of traps and some otherworldly creature looking to eat him for breakfast. Players will need to help Henri overcome their fears as he struggles to survive in absolutely dire circumstances.
