Popular F2P game Warframe is coming to the Nintendo Switch, its publisher Digital Extremes has announced. There is no release date just yet, though expect it before the end of the year if you’re a betting person.

Panic Button, who nailed the Switch ports of Bethesda’s DOOM and Wolfenstein II, will be handling the conversion.

Here’s the announcement trailer:

“The hit cooperative, sci-fi action game, Warframe, is coming to Nintendo Switch!

“They were called Tenno. Warriors of blade and gun – masters of the Warframe armor. Those that survived the Old War were left drifting among the ruins. Now they are needed once more.”

Warframe is a wild hybrid of many different genres with it most recently having two new expansions and surface-to-space combat being announced. I haven’t played it since it first came to PS4, so it may be time to dip my toe back in.

With the inclusion of Warframe, the Switch is becoming a decent pick for free-to-play multiplayer games. Fortnite is obviously going to be the one most people go for, but expect Warframe to garner itself a sizeable audience as well.
