Prehistorik Games Bash Their Way Onto Steam

Although it never achieved anywhere near the level of fame or success enjoyed by other games released during the era, the 1991 platformer Prehistorik was still a moderate success and was even followed by a sequel two years later. As its name suggests, Prehistorik followed a loincloth-clad caveman hunting for food in a time before restaurants and supermarkets, with each level ending with a giant boss fight.

If you never got in on the caveman action and you feel like returning to an age where problems were solved by hitting things with clubs, both Prehistoric and its sequel have now made their way to Steam in all their dino-bashing glory. Note that the Steam version of the first game is a direct port of the original 1991 version and not the 2013 remake.

Both games were originally developed and published by Titus Interactive, with the Steam releases being handled by Interplay Entertainment Corp. You can purchase the first entry here and the second here. Gameplay videos of both are included below.

Far Cry Primal may have cutting edge visuals, but it will never be able to replicate the 2D charm of wearing a loincloth and whacking everything in sight with a club. Life was so much simpler back then.
