Hate sand, but love Fortnite? You’re in for a treat this month as Anakin Skywalker is landing in the game to coincide with May 4th, the annual celebration of all things Star Wars.
The hero turned villain of Star Wars, Anakin is technically already in Fortnite as Darth Vader, who was a Battle Pass skin last chapter, but this marks his first unhelmeted appearance in Fortnite alongside the other franchise veterans, such as Obi-Wan, Rey, and even the Mandalorian. Anakin used to be a bit of an unloved character among Star Wars fans due to the overall reaction to the prequels, but nostalgia, the Clone Wars cartoon, and some very disappointing sequels has made him one of the most beloved characters in the canon. And now he’s coming to Fortnite.

So far, we only know for certain that Anakin will have his Episode 3 era design, so the almost all black outfit with long hair. It’s not clear yet whether we’ll also be getting his appearance from Episode 2 as a separate style, but it’s somewhat unlikely. He will definitely, however, have other cosmetics as part of his set, including a Back Bling and Pickaxe. It’d be very welcome if his lightsaber twirl became an emote.
There will also be other skins as part of the collaboration, though it’s not yet clear what those are, but it’s a somewhat safe bet to guess that Padme will be coming as the female skin counterpart. There’s also an almost certain chance that the other Star Wars skins released to the Item Shop to date will be returning as part of the crossover event.
Fortnite Anakin Skin Price
Just based on the prices of every other Star War skin, especially Obi-Wan, you should expect Anakin to cost 1600 V-Bucks when he makes his way into the Fortnite Item Shop.
Epic and Lucasfilm are very unlikely to just release the skin and call it quits, so expect a complete Anakin bundle that includes all his other cosmetic for around 2500 or so V-Bucks.
Fortnite Anakin Skin Release Date
The Fortnite x Star Wars event for this year is due to kick off on May 2nd, 2023, so that’s a pretty safe bet as to when Anakin will be coming to the Item Shop.
As with most Fortnite crossovers, expect him to be a part of the Item Shop for at least once before he rotates out, presumably until May 4th next year.
