GTFO, a co-op horror game that first released in Steam Early Access back in 2019, is getting one of its biggest ever updates from today in the form of the new Rundown, Rebirth. Check out the trailer for the game’s fifth Rundown above.
Rebirth will feature a new an all-new environment floristic called Floodways, along with new enemies, weapons and expeditions, as well as the introduction of Boosters, which will give you buffs to things like assault rifle damage, hacking speed, and so on. What’s interesting about these Boosters, apart from the fact that you have to inject it directly into your brain, is that they will be returned to the Warden after you die, unlike the permanent loss of most things in the game.
What’s A Rundown In GTFO?
Rundowns in GTFO are basically giant content refreshes for GTFO as a whole that introduce tonnes of new features, while also removing the contents of the last Rundown — permanently. This means that the game changes with every single new Rundown, constantly keeping the game feeling fresh and the tension high.
It’s a fascinating concept, which really goes for the game as a whole. GTFO is an FPS that will put you under intense pressure, and when you can’t always know exactly what you need to do thanks to the temporary nature of Rundowns, not even the game’s veterans can always feel that comfortable.
When Does The Rebirth Rundown Release?
Right now. The Rebirth Rundown will be available from 1PM CEST on April 29th until the time the next Rundown rolls around, after which it will never be playable again.
What’s GTFO Again?
Here’s the official synopsis for GTFO, developed and published by 10 Chambers:
“GTFO is a 4 player action/horror cooperative first-person shooter for hardcore gamers looking for a real challenge. Players get to play as a team of prisoners, forced to explore and extract valuable artifacts from a vast underground complex that has been overrun by terrifying creatures. Gather weapons, tools, and resources to help you survive – and work to unearth the answers about your past and how to escape.”
GTFO can also be played solo with matchmaking, but you have to get your friends on comms so you can scream together — it puts the F in GTFO.
