With two days remaining until WWE 2K Battlegrounds officially hits shelves, we’ve caught our first glimpse of the trophy/achievement list for the PS4 and Xbox One editions of the game. For a game that champions ‘fun’ and the arcadey feel of wrestling games of old, there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of replayability when it comes to the trophies. With a list of only 13 trophies/achievements to hunt down, most of which being fairly simple, it shouldn’t take long for an experienced wrestling gamer to plough through and nab a cheeky 100%.
Below is the full list of trophies/achievements for WWE 2K Battlegrounds:
I Won: Perform a pin successfully
Zoologist: Control the ram and feed your opponent to the alligator
Thunderstorm: Unlock the ‘Thunderstorm’ power-up
That’s my signature: Perform 20 signature moves
Becoming a superstar: Complete the WrestleMania main event
Welcome to the Sunshine State: Unlock the Everglades Battleground
Vs. the World: Win a Gauntlet match against 5 opponents or more
Charismatic: Fill the crowd bar
Freedom!: Win a Steel Cage match
Nothing Personal: Perform 20 Taunts
Anybody else?: Win a Royal Rumble match with 20 opponents
Is that a legal move?: Pick up a motorcycle and a turnbuckle
Invincible: Win a Royal Rumble with 30 opponents on Normal or Higher difficulty
So there you have the complete trophy/achievement list for the base game. There’s a chance that with the scheduled DLC could come an extra haul of trophies, especially if it includes new arenas/weapons, but for now that doesn’t seem like an impressive list to us trophy hunters. Yes, it’ll be an easy 100% but there’s no platinum to show for it. Perhaps with the game being such a steal at £/$30 or less, the devs didn’t see much of a reason to add more trophies to bolster a fairly basic game.
Hopefully this won’t be telling of how quickly WWE 2K Battlegrounds will wear on players, WWE and 2K need a success story to make up for the horror that was WWE 2K20. We shall see come Friday!
