Why Drew McIntyre’s Special WrestleMania 38 Entrance Was Scrapped

No fancy walk-downs for 'The Scottish Warrior'.

‘The Scottish Psychopath’ Drew McIntyre reportedly turned down a special WrestleMania entrance this past Saturday night. According to rumours, McIntyre was scheduled to arrive to his match with Happy Corbin being escorted by a troop of kilt-wearing Scots all brandishing swords. The decision was made by the former WWE Champion himself, who opted for a standard entrance to better connect with the audience.

McIntyre’s decision wasn’t influenced by any time restraints nor because creative was lacking, Drew believed that by adding the extra layer of flair to his entrance, it would take away from his relationship with the fans, who wanted a more natural entrance from the Scotsman. This is precisely what McIntyre was given at WrestleMania this year, and it worked out pretty well for him.

Drew went on to defeat Happy Corbin in the second match of WrestleMania: Saturday, kicking out of a previously protected move, Corbin’s End of Days finisher.

Despite the cut, those involved with Drew’s entrance were still paid for their involvement and provided with backstage passes for the entire event. A classy move from WWE.
