Arrow’s leading man will be taking a step away from the DC Universe and back into the whimsical world of professional wrestling, as he takes on a role in the upcoming wrestling-themed TV drama, Heels. Heels follows a small family-run wrestling promotion, following the men and women who are chasing their dreams of becoming the next Hulk Hogan or John Cena.

Amell stars as Jack, the charismatic heel, or villain, who finds it hard to leave his dastardly personality in the ring. The hard-working family man must do whatever it takes to secure his future as the star of DWA and claim the legacy that his Father left behind for him and his sibling rival.

Stephen Amell is no stranger to the squared circle. Being close friends with AEW head-honcho, Cody Rhodes, Amell has stepped into the ring as part of their budding company. Amell competed against wrestling veteran Christopher Daniels in what turned out to be a show-stealer in last year’s historic All In event. Before that, Amell performed as a guest at WWE’s SummerSlam PPV in 2015. Amell shocked the world by exceeding expectations in his match and became widely respected by the wrestling audience.

Heels comes to the small screen very soon, so keep an eye for more details as they’re announced.
