Single of the Week: Solo 45 – ‘Feed Em To The Lions’

At the time of writing, the world hasn’t ended just yet, and so we arrive at another new week in the continuing adventures of the seven days collective. Is there a better way to celebrate that fact than soundtracking the week with our pick of this week’s crop of singles? No, no there is not. You know what that means, don’t you? SINGLE OF THE WEEK.

This week, continues the trend of the year so far with another strong batch of releases dropping, but as always there’s one track that stands head and shoulders above the rest, and this week as it stands head and shoulders above the rest of the releases it demands you feed ’em to the lions. You best listen, Solo 45 ain’t messing about.

So, yeah, this week’s SINGLE OF THE WEEK is the in your face ‘Feed Em To The Lions’ coming care of an especially intense and on the offensive Solo 45. The track itself has been floating flame-like in the ether for a little while now, having originally been recorded back in 2012 and popping up briefly in 2013, but it got kept under wraps predominantly and entrusted with the track’s producer Preditah and fellow DJ Maximum – making the track a bit of an underground sleeper.

Anyway, last year saw grime collective Boy Better Know (who Solo 45 is a member of) perform at Red Bull Culture Clash at which Solo 45 got to properly debut ‘Feed Em To The Lions’ and everyone went insane. This got the ball rolling, and then here we are with the track getting its big release proper, alongside two videos for it; one an intense black and white blast of Solo 45 letting loose and thrashing out lone, and the other a more flash piece including performance footage, some lions, and Solo 45 looking like he’s about to kick the shit out of you in a pretty sweet jumper. Check out both below.
