The big team-ups for the impending WWE Mixed Match Challenge continued in a big way today, with Raw offering perhaps the biggest curveball of the event so far.
It was revealed that the returning, multiple-time Intercontinental Champion, The Miz, would be teaming with the undefeated and seemingly unstoppable ‘Empress of Tomorrow’, Asuka.
It that isn’t an unexpected turn of events, then I don’t know what is. Don’t say that WWE doesn’t throw us a bone every now and then!
The former NXT star Asuka made history as the longest-reigning champion in the brand’s history (532 days to be exact), and Miz is no slouch either, being a Grand Slam Champion himself.
After a big reveal like that, it will be very interesting to see SmackDown’s response.
