Noob Saibot Revealed For Mortal Kombat 11, Shang Tsung DLC Confirmed

Also confirmed is The Krypt, which better not have any spooky man-sized spiders.

Mortal Kombat 11

NetherRealm have revealed that Noob Saibot will be joining the Mortal Kombat 11 roster, continuing the on-going reveal trend of each revealed fatality trying to one up the last. As good as Johnny Cage’s fatality is, Noob Saibot’s might just be a tiny bit better. Check out the reveal trailer below.

MK fans will already know that Noob Saibot was the former Sub-Zero, and if the trailer is anything to go by, that bad blood hasn’t subsided. As for Noob’s movelist, he’s still able to summon shadow clones to take the opponent down from full screen, which certainly won’t be abused by, well, noobs online. Of course, it’s his Fatal Blow and fatality that really steal the show, proving that NetherRealm aren’t running out of creative fatality ideas just yet.

That said, NetherRealm weren’t done with the announcements, as they also revealed that sorcerer Shang Tsung will be the first DLC character for Mortal Kombat 11, though announcing DLC characters a month before the game comes out will probably leave a sour taste in the mouths of a lot of players.

However, Shang Tsung will also be fronting Mortal Kombat 11’s iteration of The Krypt. No solid details have been revealed about how The Krypt will work in MK 11, but it looks like you’ll be controlling an unnamed character, who will explore Shang Tsung’s Island and maybe beyond, obtaining new items and gear. Just so long as there are no giant spiders like MK X’s Krypt, it should be fine.

In a nice little touch, MK 11’s Shang Tsung is being played by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, the actor who played the sorcerer in the 1995 Mortal Kombat film, and season 2 of Machinima’s Mortal Kombat Legacy.
