No Man’s Sky Gets An Awesome New Trailer, ‘Explore’

No Man's Sky

One of 2016’s most interesting games is edging closer to release after a short delay, so you better believe that the marketing machine is kicking into gear. Sony have released a new trailer for No Man’s Sky and it looks excellent.

We get a quick look at just a fraction of the 18 quintillion planets we will be able to explore in the Hello Games sci-fi exploration epic. There’s also a chance to take a look at some of the weird and wonderful wildlife you will encounter on your epic travels. It isn’t confirmed, but it sounds like 65daysostatic, the post-rock marvels scoring the game, also lent their distinctive sound to this new trailer.

“Your Universe Awaits

There are 18 quintillion planets in the game. Even if each planet was visited at a rate of one per second, it would take five billion years to explore them all – by which the Sun in our solar system would have burnt out, essentially giving the game a near infinite number of worlds to explore!

To help guide players through such a vast number of locations No Man’s Sky has an overarching goal of reaching the centre of the universe, where there are more bountiful resources and more challenging locations to discover. This, however, is just a guide, and players are free to explore the game however they like.”

No Man’s Sky drops on August 9th in North America, one day later in Europe, and August 12th in the UK, which is a bit annoying for 90% of the staff here. We need to claim the galaxy.

No Man’s Sky is available for pre-order on PS4.
