Having never really appreciated fan films before I found out about X-Strike Studios, I have recently been spending a lot of time trawling the web to find some of the best out there. Not all are great and some are quite frankly terrible with only the obvious love for the source material really redeeming it, but this Metal Gear Solid fan film from the guys at Fury Fingers is a step above.
Brilliantly silly but also packed to the bandanas with some surprisingly fluid choreography, it’s nicely produced and polished to the extent that so many similar attempts just don’t quite manage.
Inspired by Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Sleeping with the Enemy (without a Julia Roberts in sight) follows a cocky and somewhat clumsy Big Boss as he makes his way through an enemy base. After somehow managing to tranquilise himself, what follows is an often funny take on tactical espionage action that should have even the most stoic members of FOXHOUND smiling.
