Indie FPS Scathe Brings The Gore To PC & Consoles This Year

Hopefully, the final release won't be DOOMed.

Scathe

Indie games publisher Kwalee has announced that they’ve entered into an agreement with the three person UK developer Damage State, in an effort to bring the FPS Scathe to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S. Check out the trailer at the top of the page.

A classic FPS movement shooter, you control the titular Scathe, an enforcer for the legions of Hell itself, as they attempt to prove their worth by navigating a deadly maze, taking down the Guardians of the maze’s Hellstones, and ultimately achieving the ascension they deserve.

While it might look and sound a bit like DOOM, Scathe has a few ideas of its own that make the game worthy of your attention, chief among them being the fact that Scathe is aiming more for a bullet hell experience. Players will have to keep moving at all times in order to dodge the waves of projectiles that’ll be launched at their head.

On top of the masses of bullets to avoid, Scathe will also launch with full cross-platform multiplayer and co-op, with up to three friends able to join your campaign with drop-in/drop-out co-op. Just be wary about who you invite into your game, because all players will pull from the same shared live pool. If one player is letting the side down, you’ll all suffer.

Scathe will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.
