This can’t come as a shock. It’s been reported that Geralt of Rivia, the protagonist of The Witcher series, will be joining the Soulcalibur VI roster as a guest character. He’ll be joining the eight other characters who have already been announced. Those characters are Mitsurugi, Sophitia, Nightmare, Kilik, Xianghua, Groh, Ivy and Zasalamel. Still no Maxi though, but it’ll happen. I believe.
The news was reported by LPVG.com, who received an anonymous tip a few weeks ago about Geralt, but were unable to corroborate the news until today. That evidence came in the form of a tweet from CD Projekt Red’s Community Lead Marcin Momot, which didn’t so much allude as state outright that Geralt will be appearing in a non-Witcher related game.
What if Geralt was going to step out of the @witchergame for the very first time to make an appearance in one of the upcoming games later this year? pic.twitter.com/dMTn1Im6HD

Of course, none of this is official confirmation, but the evidence certainly suggests we’ll see the White Wolf battering demonic swordsmen and samurais when Soulcalibur VI launches later this year. LPVG.com also note that Bandai Namco, the publishers of Soulcalibur, helped distribute The Witcher 3 to Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand, so it’s not like a partnership between them and CD Projekt Red has been conjured out of thin air.
If the news is true, Geralt will be joining a list of Soulcalibur guest characters that includes Link from The Legend of Zelda, Spawn, Yoda, Ezio and The Apprentice from The Force Unleashed. Yeah, not all of them were winners, but Geralt seems like a slam dunk. Let’s just hope he doesn’t have a special move where he shags his opponent on the back of a unicorn.
