Fortnite Infinity Gauntlet Playable Now: Thanos Abilities & More Details Revealed

Thanos Fortnite

With the release of v4.1, Fortnite has taken its wildest turn yet with the introduction of Infinity War’s Thanos. It’s an almost unprecedented collaboration in terms of scale –the biggest game in the world colliding with the biggest movie in the world– and Infinity Gauntlet, the new LTM, is available to play right now.

Available as a solo experience, Infinity Gauntlet features a restrictive storm that encroaches really quickly. You’ll want to land in the circle as that’s where you will find the gauntlet itself and the ability to turn into Thanos.

Here’s the video:

Whoever finds the Gauntlet will be able to play as Thanos, but this effectively puts a massive X on your back. Other plays can see you on the mini-map and compass wheel with your health and shield also visible. Thanos is a meaty boy, so it should be no surprise that he can withstand some punishment. He has 1000 health and shield combined, but that gets chipped away pretty quickly when most of the map is against him. Luckily for Thanos, his shields return when he kills another player.

When Thanos is killed, the Infinity Gauntlet is then back in play for whoever picks it up first. It creates total chaos, but if it isn’t claimed by anyone then a meteor will drop it elsewhere.

His abilities in full:

Ability 1 – A mighty punch that knocks enemies back and destroys structures.
Ability 2 – Thanos flies towards the ground, hitting an area for knockback and damage.
Ability 3 – Harness the energy of the Power stone to fire a blast that deals damage over time.
Ability 4 – A super-jump that can vault Thanos over all but the largest obstructions.

As the Mad Titan is no easy conquest, Epic have included only Rare, Epic and Legendary weapons and have drastically improved the drop rate of some of the most prestigious items, such as the Chug Jug. Thanos himself only has his bare fists; would be a bit strange to see the big bad running around with a pickaxe.

You can find all the details here.

Having played Infinity Gauntlet for a little while before the servers packed it in completely, Infinity Gauntlet plays completely unlike any round of Fortnite ever. It’s thrilling and essentially very silly, but I can’t wait to play until my fingers turn to dust.
