First Captain Marvel Trailer Released, Features Gratuitous Blockbuster

Captain Marvel

Marvel have just released the first look at Captain Marvel with a trailer which first premiered on Good Morning America.

Check it out below:

Higher. Further. Faster. Watch the trailer for Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel, in theaters March 8, 2019.

The trailer opens up with a huge headbang to the fact that it is not set in modern times: the existence of Blockbuster stores. Carol Danvers finds herself crash landing into one before making nice with Nick Fury, who still has both eyes.

There’s a lot going on here and far too much to unpack for someone who isn’t all that well versed in the character (like me), but any movie in which a superhero punches a smiling old lady in the face is probably one worth watching in my book. It also ties in nicely to build the character up for The A–that movie. You know the one. No spoilers here.

Captain Marvel releases on March 8th, 2019.
