E3 2018: Anthem Trailer Revealed, Will Have No Loot Boxes

Anthem

EA have revealed a new trailer at E3 2018 for Anthem.

The development team at BioWare took to the stage to detail more about the upcoming game in a deep dive into the game’s mechanics and how it all works.

They mentioned that the single-player story will be in-depth, so you won’t need to team up with friends — you can go it offline if you want to.

BioWare also detailed the world’s lore which revolves around old gods and that you need to wear a javelin suit to survive in its inhospitable environments.

You play as a freelancer who hopes to put a stop to the Dominion as they look to use an old power for evil means on the planet of Tharsis.

Anthem will also have multiple Javelins available, including The Interceptor, The Storm, The Ranger, and The Colossus.

Anthem will allow you customise the way you look and the loadout of your suit. There will be no loot boxes, BioWare announced, but there will be cosmetic items that you can buy upfront.

They rounded off their presentation with a gameplay trailer, which certainly looked lovely and had lots of floating numbers, but we will have to wait and see to find out what the finished product is actually like.

Anthem will launch February 22nd, 2019, which puts it directly in competition with Days Gone.
