DOOM & Ghostface Killah reunite on ‘Ray Gun’

Doom vs Ghostface Killah

The hip-hop world has been clamoring for DOOM and Ghostface Killah to finally release a full collaborative album for years. Supposedly we’ll see it this year, but similar promises have been made and unmade before. In the mean time, we have ‘Ray Gun’. Riding on the moment of his highly acclaimed 2014 album 36 Seasons, Ghost is releasing Sour Soul, a new album, flanked by BADBADNOTGOOD, a jazz/instrumental hip-hip trio that have taken the world by storm in the past few years.

DOOM turns up for the second verse, and given that he has a penchant for jazzy, esoteric sampling, he fits right in here. Two other singles have been released from the album, respectively featuring Elzhi and Danny Brown, so it’s fair to say that the full release is likely to be a powerhouse of talent. How far away we are from the full DOOMSTARKS experience is a hard thing to estimate, but this is the most promising development in a long time.

Sour Soul with be released on the 25th of February
