A new dating app, Tender, appears to be hinting at a new Vampire: The Masquerade announcement. The app looks similar enough to a real dating app, but following a bit of digging, users found a slew of red flags.
For one, users with a Paradox account have an account with the app. During one of the livestreams on the official Tender Twitch channel, fans of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines will notice they showed Santa Monica Pier, which is a prominent place in the game. Users also found “leaked” memos by Tender’s CEO, Malcolm Chandler.
The leaks indicated that something big is coming our way next month. One of the memos notes they had to be ready for San Francisco on March 21, and as such, this is speculated to be the date of an announcement. The Game Developers Conference is occurring on that same day as well, which further aided the speculation.
Tender uses algorithms that matches you based on blood type. This alone is bizarre enough and cause for speculation, but on top of that, they are openly powered by Paradox Interactive. Paradox has been the owner of the publisher of Vampire: The Masquerade, White Wolf Publishing, since 2015.
Vampire: The Masquerade is a tabeltop RPG that launched its fifth edition in 2018. A video game, Bloodlines, came out back in 2004, which means the board game creator isn’t opposed to making video games based on the property. It also had a mobile game released in 2017. Nevertheless, keep a lookout on March 21st — we may just get an announcement centered around the series.
