Review scores: love them or hate them, they’re here to stay.
Here at Cultured Vultures, however, we put it in the hands of the reviewer. If they want to include scores, that’s fine. If they don’t, that’s just as fine.
Despite ultimately just being the opinion of one person, too many people take them to heart and lose their minds if their favourite game gets a lower score than another. That’s crazy; it shouldn’t take away from your enjoyment of the game at all.
There’s also the awkward territory of big publications reviewing games they’re advertising. It’s a strange and disconcerting part of the process that not enough people raise an eyebrow over.
