Blumhouse Share First Halloween 2018 Trailer

Halloween 2018

Lo and behold, the official Halloween trailer is here. We are just 133 days (132 if you subtract the hours that have already passed) away from the theatrical release. That’s a mere 19 weeks out from now.

The fantastic thing about the horror community and, more specifically, the Halloween fans is the numerous groups of people connecting through a mutual respect and love for the 1978 original and, of course, the franchise that has since been created. A lot of us have been waiting up since midnight, surfing every possible website and social media account associated with one of the film’s cast and crew members.

Yesterday we were given two more little teasers that showed more of Laurie Strode preparing for Michael and little snippets of the menacing Mr. Michael Myers. Everyone and their cousin will surely be shooting reaction videos and reviewing it. The teasers alone have been subject to over-analyzing. At times it feels like a double-edged sword. Is what we’re seeing here the entire movie, or have Jason Blum and co. found a way to give us a little that still manages to seem like a lot?

As you recall, the original Halloween’s trailer gave virtually everything away. Trailers haven’t exactly come along way since then. In fact, with Youtube, you can pause and slow everything down. Then again, the trailer for Upgrade didn’t really spoil everything, nor had The Purge. It’s really anyone’s guess as it’s actually neither the director nor the film’s editor who is responsible for making the trailers. It’s usually competitive outside agencies, almost Darwinian in their approach of getting their work done before another company has the chance to.

All ramblings aside, we have you covered. What do you think of the trailer? Is it a trick or a treat? Look for Halloween in theaters October 19th.
