Big Red Dead Online Update Goes Live

Shiny new things!

Red Dead Online

Rockstar has released a “big batch of updates” for Red Dead Online, which were detailed on February 26th in a blog post.

The update includes new Daily Challenges. These challenges will earn you a reward of Gold Nuggets and XP with a “bonus” if you complete all seven of the challenges, which will appear rotationally every day.

A new Free Roam Event called Fool’s Gold has also been added with this update. The Fool’s Gold event will need one player to wear armor made of gold and try to rack up a high score without death. If the player in the armor dies, the player who made the final blow will become the new wearer.

This update also adds a new weapon, clothing, and emotes that the player can get their hands on. The Rare Shotgun is a version of the powerful double barrel longarm. The differences with the Rare Shotgun is it’s engraved and a faded-brass color. New clothing has been added; coats, boots, hats, and more all have new styles. The emotes include new greets and insults.

On the technical side of things, this update provides an updated player radar and visibility. The update to the radar means you have to be closer to other players before they appear on the map. They also highlight more aggressive players with a darkening dot to warn players.
