Apex Legends Switch: How To Disable Crossplay

Switch it off.

Apex Legends

It’s been a little while coming, but Apex Legends is finally on the dynamo that is the Nintendo Switch with full cross-play support. But how do you turn it off if you want to?

Cross-play has become more and more prominent in multiplayer games in recent times, particularly in battle royale games. In essence, it allows friends over different systems to play the same game together. Where Apex is concerned, it means players across all available platforms can play with each other, though if anyone in the party is on PC then players will be put into a PC lobby.

If you just want to play against other Switch players in Apex Legends, here are the step-by-step instructions on how you can disable cross-play.

– Press the + button while you are in the lobby. Select settings.
– Choose gameplay.
– Scroll down until you reach cross platform play.
– Select disabled.

Bear in mind that once you turn it off, you may experience extended waiting times to get into a match as you will only be paired with other Switch players. In addition, you will not be able to play with friends on other platforms.

If you want to enable cross-play, just return to the same setting and move selection back to enabled.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.
