Fortnite‘s bringing out the big guns for Halloween this year, or should that be claws? As part of Fortnitemares 2022, players can get their hands (literally) on a brand new item, the Mythic Howler Claws.
Howler Claws turn players into metallic wolves who can hunt down other players with tracking vision by howling to active the Wolfscent, allowing you to mark your enemies, while you can also slash at your enemies to deal pretty significant damage in combos that can last for up to four attacks. The Howler Claws work a lot like Wolverine’s Claws from Chapter 2 – Season 4, with players even able to use attack mid-air and leap down on top of opponents by double-tapping your jump button.
To get the Howler Claws in Fortnite, players have to go to the Reality Tree (or what’s left of it). Once there, stand on an Alteration Altar and then perform the Ritual emote once prompted with your interact button. When completed, the player will be adorned with the Howler Claws.
Make sure you let the emote completely finish, otherwise you will not complete the ritual and unlock the Howler Claws.
Players also also find Alteration Altars throughout the island, which seem to have been placed by a mysterious being in control of everything. Here is a quick glimpse at some of the Alteration Altars across the Fortnite map.
