Sarah Paulson Gives Us the Chills in Official Trailer for Run

You'll never forget about mother's day after watching this movie.

Lionsgate just released the official trailer for Run, and boy does it look like it will be a scary, intense ride. It stars Sarah Paulson, who plays mommy to newcomer Kiera Allen’s Chloe. Paulson’s Diane has raised her daughter in total isolation, controlling every move she’s made since birth, and there are secrets that Chloe’s only beginning to grasp.

There is much suspicion and mistrust between the two, and as the viewer, we won’t really know what the reality is. Run is directed by Aneesh Chaganty (he also co-wrote the script with Sev Ohanian), the same man who brought us the movie Searching with John Cho.

In a reddit thread, Ohanian spoke out about how they managed to get Sarah Paulson to be the star of their movie. Both he and Chaganty wanted her for the part, and thought it was crazy how she has never been cast as a lead actress in a movie before. They sent her the script via their agency, she liked it, met with Chaganty who explained his vision to her, and just like that, she was on board. Ohanian also mentioned that they are working on a sequel to Searching, so it will be interesting to see how that pans out as well.

Run will hit cinemas May 8, 2020, and yes, that is Mother’s day.
