The long-running rumours of a PC port of Red Dead Redemption 2 have been building up once again, as references have been made to the port in the code for Rockstar’s Social Club. Spotted by Twitter user @JakoMako51, the code makes reference to PC accomplishments, which are likely to be the PC equivalent of achievements. The same line of code also contains PS4 Trophies.
The fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PC is now quite evident. #RDR2 #reddeadredemption2pc #RedDeadRedemption2 #rdr2pc #reddeadredemption

While this doesn’t exactly confirm the existence of a PC port, as Rockstar could simply be laying the groundwork for a potential port on the Social Club website, it’s not the first time that rumours of a PC port have made their way into the wild. Only a few months ago, references to the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 were found on a former developer’s LinkedIn profile.
It seems likely that a PC port will be released at some point in the near future, though we might have to wait a bit longer. Remember, it took around 19 months and next generation port to bring GTA V to PC, so with that in mind, you won’t see Arthur Morgan grace the PC until around May/June 2020. Expect a PC release, just don’t expect a quick one.
