Kunimitsu Confirmed For Tekken 7’s Season 4, Launching This Autumn

"I did it, Mother."

Tekken 7

Over the weekend, Bandai Namco announced the first character coming to Tekken 7’s Season 4 Pass, Kunimitsu, who is scheduled to launch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One this autumn. You can check out the debut trailer at the top of the page.

Who Is Kunimitsu?

Kunimitsu is a ninja who was formerly from Yoshimitsu’s clan who first appeared in the original Tekken as a hidden character. Her last appearance in a mainline Tekken game was Tekken 2, but she’s made appearances in the non-canonical Tekken Tag Tournament games.

Interestingly, this version of Kunimitsu appears to be the daughter of the original version, sent out into the world on her mother’s behest. In a first for the character, she even takes her mask off, which at least confirms there’s going to be more options for customisation instead of having to work around her mask.

What Does Season 4 Of Tekken 7 Include?

Season 4 of Tekken 7 will feature two characters, Kunimitsu and an as-of-yet unannounced character, along with two stages, Vermilion Gates and another unannounced stage. On top of that, Season 4 will be introducing a series of widespread changes that’ll be introduced to all players.

First things first, all characters on the roster will be receiving brand new moves to add to their arsenal. On top of that, there will be an overhauled in-game UI and ranking system, with the highest new rank of Tekken God Prime Omega being introduced. I can only dream of reaching those dizzying highs.

Season 4 will also be introducing Tekken Prowess, a new kind of ranking system that’ll better analyse your skill across the entire game and rank you accordingly. Basically, it sounds like it’ll expose for the Negan one-trick that I am, so that sounds like fun.

Will Season 4 Of Tekken 7 Be Worth It?

As far as content goes, Season 4 seems to be pretty light by comparison, with only two characters instead of the six in Season 2 and and five in Season 3. Season 1’s pass only included two additional characters, but it also including Tekken Bowl, so that’s something. That said, the free updates are plentiful enough to keep players invested throughout the next year.
