Developers One More Level games have announced that their upcoming cyberpunk parkour slasher Ghostrunner, which is set to launch next week on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, will receive a next-gen upgrade in 2021. Players who buy the game on PS4 and Xbox One will get their free next-gen upgrade on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The news was announced via the below tweet.

Wait, In 2021?
Yeah, you’ll have to wait a little bit to see the full benefits of Ghostrunner on next-gen hardware, but at least the new consoles should naturally reduce the game’s loading times. The developers haven’t stated what next-gen benefits will be offered yet, though it’ll likely take the form of the usual framerate enhancements and raytracing. Those are always safe bets.
What Is Ghostrunner Anyway?
Ghostrunner is a first-person parkour/slasher hybrid that sees players scaling a huge sci-fi tower crammed with enemies with guns, while you have a sword. It seems a little unfair, honestly: they should have more guns. Ghostrunner will launch on October 27th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One and we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
