Fortnite Season 8 Adds Pirate Cannon & Volcano Lava

AHOY AND SO ON

Fortnite Pirate Cannon

Downtime is now underway for Fortnite Season 8, which is already shaping up to be a crazy one. While some things have been taken out, Epic have also introduced a slew of new skins, as well as a Pirate Cannon and lava.

The Pirate Cannon lets you shoot cannonballs at enemies, but you can also launch yourself — wow, it really is Sea of Fortnite. Here’s what you need to know about it:

– Push the Cannon into position, take aim, and fire! Alternatively, climb into the barrel and launch yourself!
— The cannon will fire cannonballs or players a great distance. Cannonballs and players can plow through a number of objects before stopping with a bang, causing damage and knockback to nearby players.
— Deals 100 Damage to enemies on a direct hit and 50 Damage to enemies within a small radius.
— Found throughout the environment.

People will hate this very quickly, calling it now.

As was rumoured, a volcano now dominates the Fortnite landscape and it brings with it a new location to visit, lava that will deal damage upon touch, and volcanic vents that will propel players into the air.

Fortnite Season 8 also nerfs the amount of superior assault rifles you come across in any given match, which is an odd choice.

Fortnite Season 8 kicks off today until May 8th; expect an hour or so of downtime until the season launches. Those who completed their Overtime challenges will get the Battle Pass for completely free, everyone else has to stump 950 V-Bucks as usual.
