Assassin’s Creed Mirage: How to Enable HDR

It’s not a stretch to say that no video game has made Baghdad look quite as good as Assassin’s Creed Mirage has. The landscapes are beautiful, the paths are bustling, and landmarks deserve to be discovered among the dunes. Want to make Mirage look even better? You’re going to want to enable HDR and really make your colors pop.

Enabling HDR in AC Mirage is actually fairly straightforward. Simply go to Options > Screen > Image Calibration. In there, you should find the option to enable HDR by switching it on, and you can also change the Maximum Luminance and Exposure.

If the option to enable HDR is greyed out, it may mean that your system or display does not have HDR enabled.

On PlayStation 5, go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > HDR. On PS4, go to Settings > Sound and Screen > Video Output Settings and then select Automatic.

On Xbox, go to Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options > Video modes > Allow HDR10.

For PC, you can simply search HDR in Windows to find the settings if you’re on more recent Windows versions, or just go to Settings > System > Display > HDR and fiddle with the settings there.

If you’re still having no luck with enabling HDR in Mirage, it may be that your display is not HDR compatible, or that you need to enable it on the display itself. There are obviously way too many different displays to provide a tutorial for each, but bear in mind that some displays may just be able to recognise a HDR signal but actually do nothing with it.

Don’t forget that HDR may produce some different captures compared to what you were expecting, or the images may appear a bit washed out.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S.
