Cultured Vultures is a website for writers, by writers. We know how difficult it can be to make an imprint with your writing on the big, bad world wide web, which is why we were established – to help you find an audience.
From interviews with upcoming authors to special features with those who have been there and done that, we have all the tips and advice the burgeoning writer could need. We started out purely to publish prose and provide feedback to new writers, but we have spread our wings pretty far in the time since.
That’s where you come in.
We are on the lookout for passionate film writers to come into our nest (sick of all these bird metaphors yet?) and contribute with their lovely words. Whether you want to write 2000 words about why Failure to Launch should have won an Oscar or just a quick bit of news coverage, we want you to write for us.
We can give feedback on all submitted work to commend a job well done or to highlight aspects of your writing that need addressing. Being a writer is a gradual process, nobody can expect to be a Dickens overnight. With our support, you should be able to take your first steps into the world of modern publishing.
“…if it’s not on CV it’s not worth knowing about.” – Danny King
If you’re interested in writing about films for us, we welcome reviews, but only for films that have just recently premiered at cinemas or been released on VOD/home video. We’re also pretty interested in reviewers at the minute, but you can always additionally approach new movies with an editorial/essay approach – these can even do better than standard reviews.
One of the areas in which we’re lacking is news coverage, whether it’s for casting, trailers; what have you. If you would be able to cover news regularly, let us know.
