The Owl House: Season 4 – Everything You Should Know

For Gravity Falls fans, The Owl House, another Disney property, has been filling the void in their hearts. Filled with an equally intriguing plot and diverse set of characters, Luz, Eda, and King have entertained fans in both the human and demon realms.

Entertaining’s not all they’re great at though. At the Season 3 finale, they ended up being the saviors of the Boiling Isles. But now that they’ve beaten Belos and the Collector, what’s next? Here’s everything you should know about The Owl House: Season 4.

When Is The Owl House: Season 4 Coming Out?

All good things must come to an end. The Owl House: Season 4 has been canceled. The show was canceled shortly after Season 3 got approved, which was in the middle of the Season 2 run in 2021. Unfortunately, the Tweet from series creator Dana Terrace confirming the cancellation was deleted.

The exact reason for the show ending is pretty vague. Dana Terrace posted on Reddit regarding what she knows about The Owl House: Season 4 cancellation. The reason she gave was that someone from Disney decided the show didn’t fit the Disney brand. Possibly because the show wanted to tell a story suited for a more mature audience.

Of course, other theories have popped up as they tend to do. Some say the cancellation was due to the LGBT+ representation in the show; others say it was because of the budget or ratings. Dana addressed those claims in the same Reddit post though, saying there wasn’t enough proof to back them up.

It might seem hopeless, especially after Dana left Disney. However, she has stated that the possibility of a continuation isn’t impossible. But at the same time, it probably isn’t coming anytime soon, if ever.

What Could The Owl House: Season 4 Be About?

Although The Owl House: Season 4 is unlikely, it’s nice to imagine what could have happened to Luz and her friends.

Originally, the battle against Belos and the Collector would probably have lasted longer. But the sudden cancellation forced Belos’ quick defeat and the Collector switching sides. So now, a new villain would have to step up for The Owl House: Season 4.

The most obvious new threats would be the Collector’s siblings, the Archivists. The Collector may be strong, but it’s implied that the Archivists are far stronger and more deceitful. They were the true masterminds behind the extermination of the Titans.

Apart from ancient all-powerful beings, Luz has another major threat: college. The series finale showed her getting ready for the next stage of her life. A stage that will likely introduce a flock of new characters, some friendly, some not so much.

  • Alex Hirsch as King Clawthorne and Hooty
